All-season tires are standard across the four trim levels. Volkswagen sets the SE R-Line Black trim and SEL R-Line apart with an accented grille, front bumper, side sills, trim, and body-color lower cladding, as well as R-Line badging and a panoramic sunroof.

Engine (Power)

Every 2023 Tiguan boasts an inspiring 2-liter TSI turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 16 valve pairs, 184 horsepower, and 221 pound-feet of torque. This is an athletic SUV with a smooth engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity is the same as previous generations at 1,500 pounds. Volkswagen's transmission system has a Tiptronic mode, enabling a manual shift for a controlled driving experience.
